Great British Beer Festival

I'm planning on heading to the Great British Beer Festival at Earl's Court, this Thursday evening. Anyone else fancy coming along? It is, I regret to inform you, Hat Day, which means that some attendees will be dusting off their sense of humour in the service of comedy headgear, but hey, if you're used to dealing with real ale drinkers you'll probably be able to mostly tune it out. Tickets are £5 for CAMRA members and £6 otherwise, or they are if bought in advance this evening, which I shall be doing shortly.

I think that the stupidity is in the hat, not its observers. Beyond that it's some pink foam, an old bike tyre and a grey foam snake, I have no idea.

Apparently the beer selection is going to be a bit random at all points of the week, since several of the breweries that were expecting have stuff there have flooded in recent weeks...

Oh bollocks, I was thinking of going to that this week, and now I've missed the only day I could've gone! I'll have to find some real ale in sunny Leicester and be there in spirit (or in ale, ho ho) or something.

I missed that Mission To London thing that was on there last week too. Some fat American dude pretending to perform miracles! It would have been funny at least.
