London Fields Lido
Aug. 26th, 2007 10:25 pmWent up there for a swim this afternoon, with
khalinche. When I first got changed, the pre-pool shower felt a bit chilly. By the time I got out, it felt boiling hot, and this was ace. I think the single oddest thing was doing backstroke and realising that it was hard to stay in a straight line with no ceiling.

Date: 2007-09-07 12:27 pm (UTC)i like the idea of swimming, particularly improving on it, and generally i think it's stupid not to be able to (might be necessary at some point to prevent an easily preventable death, mine or someone elses), i have a slight anxiety about it too.
i can do a pretty attractive breaststroke (no that's not a euphemism) but my front crawl looks like an ineffective puppy. backstroke is ok if there are no waves. so, my swimming itself isn't that bad, but i panic easily, and also fear panicking, because at that point i start drowning... ok in a pool it's not that much of a big deal, i'm not going to die, but it's a)unpleasant swallowing that much water and b) embarassing.
