That's a good point - the main light fitting in my room is some Ikea spot-bulb nightmare thing, and the lamp has a normal incandescent bulb in it, which I was almost shocked to see - people must have to go out of their way to buy such inefficient buls these days, surely? I considered putting a small CFL I have with me in the lamp instead but it felt a bit futile, what with only being there for six weeks, and the shade looks like it'll be fiddly to get off. But if it'll solve the blink problem that makes it worth bothering.
