The question is, Them Crooked Vultures; joining the ticket scrum tomorrow morning for the 17th of December in Hammersmith, or taking a detour on the New York - Niagara Falls trip to Toronto, on the Friday night, to see them two months earlier? Are they worth going to another country, and therefore going through the tedium that is getting back into the US, for? I could do both...

So far I've heard only fragments of their stuff, but it sounds not how I feared but how I hoped it might sound, which is like QotSA's Songs For The Deaf only stripped down. Minus Lanegan's sentimental streak and with more *roll*. I am looking forward to walking to this music already.

Meanwhile, what does one wear to a prom, as in the variety that involve classical music and the Albert Hall, not the sort that involves a prom dress, unless it does? I'm going to one for the first time tomorrow night.

Prom: my general impression seems to be smart casual.

I went to a prom wearing a skirt (yes I know) but that's because it was 30 degrees C outside. I could have easily got away with jeans (the students sat next to us did) - it's more of a case of what you don't mind sitting (or standing) comfortably in for 3 hours.

Yeah, dress for comfort more than anything else. If it's a hot day outside it can get quite sticky in there.

Prom - no dress code. really, just wear whatever you're in. if you fancy dressing up you can because it's RAH, but there's no call for it.
hey whaddya know, it's one i've got pencilled in myself (i thought it was today but diary says no). i'm not going to make it because it starts at 6.30 and i'm in the office tomorrow, but it means i thought it would be a good one to go to...
TCV - what's the hassle getting back in to the US? visa stuff or just queueing? if you're going to Niagara Falls anyway it might be nice to cross over the border, the land 'gates' aren't that much hassle in terms of queuing...
