I got some CDs from Roy last night; they've got their original drummer from 1971 playing with them at the minute, but if that doesn't work out, as it seems it might not, then they may well give me a go. We shall see. This will involve taking my drumkit to Rainham, as well as a couple of cheap hours down at Monster sometime first.
Someone next door got a drum kit for Christmas, which they seem to playing with normal heads on and everything in the room right next to my lounge, usually for a couple of goes a day when they first got it, with diminishing frequency more recently but still for a good half-hour or so a couple of times a week. I've been meaning to go round there and not so much complain as promote the benefits of mesh heads, and being as how it started up again about twenty minutes ago when I was sitting n the lounge having lunch, I finally took the initiative. The drummer turned out to be a boy in an Iron Maiden t-shirt, aged maybe 14 or so (it's half-term, of course) who was instantly sorry for the noise, and who hadn't heard of mesh heads. His mum's been asking him to get silencer pads but they're rubbish, so hopefully he'll get mesh heads instead, and be quieter without spoiling all the fun. I hope wearing a Mastodon t-shirt, as I am today, may have given me sufficient authority.
Meanwhile, got via Facebook from someone who I haven't met in probably thirteen years who used to be deceiver on mono, Get The Blessing:
If this is jazz, I love jazz.
