I'm one of the Greens on your list, fellow memers. I'm pretty certain I wouldn't want them to be running the country, but I live in Brighton Pavilion constituency and we have an unusual situation here.
Brighton's full of bloody hippies. Thirteen out of the fifty four local councillors are Green, as many as are Labour. We've had a Labour MP since 1997 who's the sort of practical, local man that people like regardless of which party he represents but he's standing down this time. This means a three-way fight between the nicest and most hippy-friendly Conservative ever seen, the old MP's wingman for Labour, and the leader of the Green Party who is also the area's MEP. The current Lib Dem surge may be causing extra complications; the Lib Dems normally don't get much of a look-in round here, coming fourth in the last general election and with only two councillors, but I wonder if this one's now a four-way fight. And I wonder if a serious resurgence of the Lib Dems might split the 'neither Brown or Cameron' vote and result in neither Greens nor Lib Dems making it. It may depend on how many Labour voters are actually 1997 enthusiasts who then liked the MP and are now prepared to look elsewhere, and where they go. Election night should be interesting anyway.
