Today I am wearing combats rolled up into shorts, and a t-shirt with a big Tribute (as in the St. Austell beer, though that never stops me singing Tenacious D when I drink it) logo on the front from last year's GBBF. And that's the second time this week this outfit has got me trade discount. Once at the timber merchant's at the bottom of the street buying wood filler, and once at the glazing shop round the corner buying glass. Do I look sufficiently like an ex- or occasional musician to look like one of Brighton's huge crew of tradesmen that are doing this to fund their next album, then?
I'm going to Comet to buy a freezer next. I bet it doesn't work there.
