I have put all seven chapters into one monstrofile for the first time. Minus all the fiddly bits like title pages and lists of figures and appendices and the final conclusion that hasn't been written yet, but correctly spaced, it is 53,843 words and 188 pages. Also 1,514 paragraphs, which somehow sounds like the biggest number of all. 

Nearly, nearly there.

Oof. I didn't realise it would be a whole book-length thing.

Yup. Mine's relatively short because a lot of the information is in diagrams and charts; the word limit for University of London PhDs is 100,000 words, and I know non-scientists who've had to make cuts to get under it.

It has somehow suffered from unexpected inflation and without me putting anything like that much extra stuff in, Word now thinks it's 229 pages long. But, yes, nearly nearly there...
