I'd been planning to go and see a band in London but they're not on til 11. In Old Street, close enough to Liverpool Street or Kings Cross to be able to get out to Cambridge afterwards with ease. Only the 00:06 from KCX isn't running tonight, presumably because of the bank holiday, which means the latest I'd be able to stay at Old Street is about 11.15, which means I'd get to see, oh, about two songs..

The band is Kn0wn, who I know through the bassist in the girl band and from all reports I'm expecting something pretty special. “BLUESY PSYCHOTIC HORROR HOP AND DEATH JAZZ” it says here, Hendrix if he'd been around for hip hop, and his backing band if they'd ever tried punk. It's the EP launch tonight too.

But no train. No first train til half six in the morning, and some fool would complain about my ticket being out of date even if I did find something to do in Liverpool Street til that time. Why cancel one train like that? (The only post-pub train on a day when most people don't have to go to work the day after? I bet there'll be a lot of stranded people in KCX tonight.) Is it worth going for such a short fraction of gig, or is it going to be even more irritating to be going through London anyway at the same sort of time and not see any of it?

Even more irritating is that I work a lark's spit away from there, but only read about it here AFTER GETTING HOME.

Bah.

I need to make time at work for LJ... ;-)
