That was an interesting experience
Aug. 11th, 2005 12:58 pmWhich is never a bad thing to be able to say, even when the nature of the interest varies.
I spent my weekend being green in the name of Pride. She-Hulk is a stupidly easy costume for me to do, but I'm not sure what I make of the result. People tend to go 'eh?' at me anyway so I thought I'd give them something worth squinting at, but the result was yet more enquiries about my gender and a constant stream of people dragging me into pictures. I dunno, I could get used to that, I just wasn't expecting it. I think it cheesed off the friend I'd met up to wander round the field with for one, and led to me running off for an early shower.
This week has involved a shedload of playing music and there's lots to be done yet. It will be done without caffiene and if possible without chocolate too, though. Being properly fired up for a Bad Fucks practice on Dairy Milk and green tea, it all sounded great but I broke my best sticks, which should have been a warning, really. I should never, ever, try any serious drugs, I tell you, because in Tuesday's PJ practice I had (*gasp*) a can of Coke, and started losing the plot halfway through. As in, I couldn't stop staring at the not-quite connected letter O on my hats, and I know we played Struggle but I don't remember it clearly and by the end of it Jodie was looking at me funny because my drumming was getting so disjointed.
Still. Obviously practicing in adverse conditions produces a better result in the real thing. Jodie is bringing a spare guitar, which practically guarantees her strings not to break this time. We're doing a new song that's been sitting waiting for final sorting for ages. And there's a total of four bands, at a rather fun and late-opening pub night. I think that means that you really ought to.

Some of you might counter that you have to be in Cambridge for a wedding the next day. Well, so do I, and I've got to get back to Brighton to drop the drumming gear off inbetween. So ner.
