Right. I'm going to attempt to do something silly. The weekend of the 7th and 8th of October, Punch Judy have two gigs in London, Friday's in Camden and Saturday's in Lewisham. Friday the 7th is also the night of the next Torture Garden, one I know a few people are going to. The TG night is in Kings Cross, really rather near Camden. The faint outline of some sort of plan suggests itself.

What I'm going to have real grief with is working out what I can wear. I'm going to have to be able to carry it along with all my drumming stuff and get changed at the venue, is the real restriction, so it can't involve too many complexities. It's not like I can't think of ideas, it's mainly that I can't get past the idea of body paint, whether as She-Hulk again or something else, because I like the way it brings quite a serious transformation. Impractical for the circumstances, though. Lots of time to apply, especially if trying to do it well, and doesn't mix well with sweat. Or kipping on someone's floor. Or not still being a silly colour at the next gig.

As the essential nucleus of the plan shows, though, practicality is in danger of getting shouted down. I dunno. Anyone got any ideas to prevent paint chaos?

TG, hmmm.... I've been chewing that idea over as well.
No off-hand suggestions on the paint, though. I expect in the long run you'll be wanting some liquid latex, there.

You will, you will, you will etc. I've got me ticket. Outfit still to be decided though probably not paint, in the circumstances. Me mate who's coming up with me has sent me frantic messages about something we need to have a look at tomorrow and the shop I ordered a leather corset from two months ago has finally got it in stock...

Saturday, the gig is at a place called Dirty South on Lee High Road in Lewisham. Er, no more details than that right now I'm afraid, but it should be a laugh, hope you can come. Jon's going to attempt to be there too, I believe.

... ah, any idea of the time yet? I'm going to randomly guess 7pm for a little pre-gig lubrication otherwise.

That'll be about the size of it, soundchecks will still be going on then, these promoters tend towards the disorganised which is why we still haven't got any timings or much idea of who's playing. Other people I know are coming are planning on getting there at eight.

Liquid Latex

You could perhaps create some sort of she-hulk effect with green liquid latex. As far as I'm aware, sweating just means it's easier to take off at the end of the night. Also, didn't you once suggest making your hair stand on end in an improbably tall mohican? You could even spray your hair green to match.

It's not the method I've got the problem with, green body-paint worked pretty well last time and was easy enough to apply, it's the time. I'll be playing the drums til about ten on Friday night and it took me well over an hour to paint myself green last time, in ideal circumstances. This time I'll be changing in whatever the venue has got by way of facilities. Probably not the ideal place to be messing around with latex...
