Granite City
Jul. 25th, 2007 12:16 pmMuahaha. Doctors always tell you that you might not notice the effect of antibiotics for 24 to 48 hours and I say, bugger that, they always work pretty quickly for me. I think it's just the relief of being observably going back up rather than wallowing on the bottom that does it. I'm at a conference in Aberdeen ("What's it on?" asks the doctor. "Semiconductor photocatalysis," says I. "Oh, a subject very dear to my heart!" proclaims the doctor with a great belly laugh, "well, I had to ask...") and spent Monday feeling more and more like shit, and daytime Tuesday wandering round Aberdeen being thwarted and frustrated by every alleged provider of information, making my shuffling way to a doctor by gradual mental and physical grind and finding a cheerful one that gave me nice drugs (liquid penicillin is a splendid idea) entirely by luck. I got the nice drugs at 4pm and everything's been on the up since then. I'd cracked dinner and getting free wifi in Aberdeen city centre by 7 (the crappy Travelodge's is broken) and this morning have managed to get it to work at the conference venue too. Top stuff. Speaking of which, I actually ought to get back into the conference. N-doped titania photocatalysis, mmm.
