Punch Judy gig
Aug. 31st, 2007 08:37 pmNo-one ever tells me anything til the last minute and actually I quite like that, I just show up and get on with hitting things with sticks, but it turns out I'll be doing that tomorrow. There's this girl that Jodie knows in Slough who's put us on in Slough a couple of times and tomorrow she's having a sort of general birthday party but because it's her and because there's going to be like, eight bands, it's going to be called the Mazfest. Punch Judy are on third of the eight at something like 7pm, anyway, so while I realise you're unlikely to not have anything better to do with your Sunday than go to Slough, I thought I should tell LJ about this anyway just in case.
The lass herself's myspace page is here and the gig is at the Rising Sun, relatively near the station, which even gets a review on beerintheevening, as found here. The only bands of those I've seen before are Peng and Second In Line but Peng are pretty good in a technical kind of way while Second In Line are genuinely top-notch straight-forward punk, with an ace drummer and lots of harmonious shouting.
Meanwhile, I appear to be off to Poptimism, and taking a
tenthmediaeval with me. Cor!
